CHAPTER I
Origins of Vovinam
Vovinam was founded on the belief that an art could shape both the body and the character of a nation. Its story begins in Hanoi and traces a path all the way to the Quang Trung dojo.
The Art Is Born
Sáng Tổ Nguyễn Lộc created Vovinam in Hanoi, Vietnam, with the goal of combining traditional Vietnamese martial arts with strength, discipline, self-defense, and character.
CHAPTER II
Our Place in the Vovinam Lineage
Our school is part of a tradition passed from master to student across several generations. Each master carries forward the knowledge, values, and responsibility entrusted to them, preserving what came before them while preparing the next generation of disciples to carry the torch onward.
Continues the lineage of Vovinam Quang Trung, guiding generations of students through rigorous training, guidance, and the discipline he demonstrates himself.
CHAPTER III
Emperor Quang Trung
Our school takes its name from Emperor Quang Trung (Nguyễn Huệ), remembered as one of Vietnam's most celebrated military leaders. His decisiveness, courage, strategy, and devotion to his people reflect the qualities that we strive to develop in each and every student.
CHAPTER IV
The White Tiger
Tinh Thần Bạch Hổ
The White Tiger reflects strength, courage, and discipline that exists at the heart of Quang Trung. The tiger represents power that is developed with a purpose rahter than aggression without control. For us, its spirit is found in how we train: fiercely when needed, calmly when its not necessary, and always with the judgement to know which the moment calls for.
Nhu represents adaptability, patience, being aware, and having restraint. It teaches you about when you need to yield, redirect, or adjust instead of reacting to things head-on.
CHAPTER V
Our Community
A lineage survives only because people continue to live it. Every class, ceremony, performance, and generation of students adds another chapter to the story. Every day, we honor what was passed down while carrying it into the present.
